Bombay HC Mandates Idol Immersion in Artificial Tanks for Ganesh Chaturthi
The Bombay High Court has made a new rule for the Ganesh festival.
All idols that are six feet tall or less must be put in artificial water tanks instead of natural water bodies.
This starts with the festival on August 27 and will continue until March.
The court wants to protect the environment from pollution caused by the idols.
Local governments must make sure this rule is followed.
Also, a special group will be created to figure out how to dissolve the idols in a way that's good for the environment.
