Delhi Faces Challenges in AAM Health Centre Implementation
The Delhi government is working to open many new health centers called Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) to provide various health services.
However, they are running into some problems.
Many of the locations for these new centers are either in the wrong area, or haven't even been found yet.
Some locations are also unsuitable.
The government is pushing to open at least 200 of these centers soon.
Each center will offer different types of health services.
This means people will have easier access to healthcare in their community.
Review of AAM sites reveals issues with location identification and jurisdiction.
100 MCD sites are outside of their jurisdiction and 61 sites are unidentified.
MCD and NDMC lack in-house lab facilities; propose outsourced services.
Delhi government aims to establish at least 200 AAMs in the next two months.
Each AAM will provide 12 service packages, including healthcare and mental health.
