NaBFID Raises Rs 4,000 Crore Via 5- and 15-Year Bonds
Imagine a bank that helps build big things like roads and bridges, called NaBFID.
This bank needed money, so it asked people to lend it money by buying special IOUs called bonds.
NaBFID sold two types of bonds: one that people get their money back in 5 years, and another in 15 years.
It sold these bonds on a Wednesday and got about 4,000 crore rupees.
The longer bond, the one for 15 years, paid a little more money back to the lenders than the shorter 5-year bond.
People thought the interest rate for the 15-year bond was pretty good, even better than expected.
This is how NaBFID gets the money it needs to help build important projects.
NaBFID raised approximately Rs 4,000 crore by issuing two bonds.
The bonds have maturities of five years and fifteen years.
Rs 2,460 crore was raised from the 15-year bond at a 7.15% yield.
Over Rs 1,600 crore was raised from the 5-year bond at a 6.86% yield.
NaBFID has raised Rs 7,809 crore through bonds in the current financial year.
