Rajasthan suspends Jaipur principal after deaf students protest conditions

A group of students in Jaipur, India, who cannot hear or speak, were unhappy with their school.

They said the toilets were dirty, there was not enough drinking water, and classrooms had cracked walls.

They also said the food at the school hostel was bad.

More than 100 of them stood outside the school gate to protest.

They used sign language, signs, and written notes to share their complaints.

Some said they had to pay money to call their parents or to be taken to the hospital.

They said there were not enough teachers who knew sign language.

One student was hit by plaster falling from the classroom ceiling, which is when the protest happened.

After the protest, education officials inspected the school and suspended the principal.

A teacher and another staff member also faced disciplinary action.
