Google Changes EU Spam Policy Amid Antitrust Fine Risk

Google Changes EU Spam Policy Amid Antitrust Fine Risk

Google is changing some of its rules for websites in the European Union.

The change may help publishers whose pages were lowered in Google Search results.

If those demotions stop, some websites could receive more visitors.

Publishers may also have more freedom to work with outside partners and affiliates.

These partners can provide commercial content.

Google is making the change because it faces the possibility of an antitrust fine.

However, websites still cannot publish poor-quality or spam content without consequences.

Google says actions against spam and site reputation problems are still possible.
