Karti Chidambaram Seeks Review of Air India AI171 Crash
A plane from Air India, flight AI171, crashed near Ahmedabad on June 12, 2023, killing many people.
A report later said the crash happened because the fuel to the engines was turned off by mistake.
Now, a Congress leader named Karti Chidambaram has found new information about the crash.
He has asked the government to look into this new information and be more open about what happened.
He wants the government to tell everyone what they find out, so people can trust that the investigation is fair and thorough.
Congress MP Karti Chidambaram has forwarded new information about the Air India AI171 crash to the Civil Aviation Minister for review.
The crash occurred on June 12, 2023, near Ahmedabad, resulting in 241 fatalities on board and 19 on the ground, with 81 injured.
The preliminary report indicated that the crash was caused by the fuel control switches being moved to the 'cutoff' position, leading to engine flameout.
Chidambaram has called for further investigation, transparency, and a comprehensive status report to be made public.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's report did not determine which pilot moved the switches and did not rule out technical faults.
