HC Dismisses Wrestlers' Challenge to WFI Elections
Some famous Indian wrestlers tried to challenge the elections of the Wrestling Federation of India because they thought the elections weren't fair.
They went to the Delhi High Court to ask for help.
But the court dismissed their requests because they didn't show up for the hearings.
The court thought they weren't serious about their case.
The elections had already chosen a new president, and the wrestlers had supported a different candidate.
Delhi High Court dismissed petitions by Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, and Satyawart Kadian challenging WFI elections.
The wrestlers alleged the elections were not fair or transparent.
The court noted the petitioners missed multiple hearings, including the final one on November 27.
Justice Mini Pushkarna observed the petitioners seemed disinterested in pursuing the matter.
Sanjay Singh was elected WFI president, defeating Anita Sheoran, who was backed by the wrestlers.
