Delhi Master Plan 2047 Proposes Broad Infrastructure and Ecological Transformation

Delhi has announced a long-term plan for how the city should grow by 2047.

It includes better roads, public transport and new business areas.

Narela could become a major place for universities and education.

Dwarka could become a centre for investment, technology and start-ups.

Kartavya Path would be improved as a public and cultural space.

The plan also includes a large new national museum and conservation of heritage buildings.

Three major areas could receive transport hubs connecting different kinds of travel.

The Yamuna floodplains would be protected, with new environmental projects and a long cycle track.

Officials say the plan is intended to make Delhi more organized, convenient and environmentally sustainable.
