Kamra Cancels Whitefield Shows, Moves to Koramangala
Kunal Kamra is a stand‑up comedian who had shows in a part of Bengaluru called Whitefield.
Some Hindu activists were upset and said he was disrespecting their gods.
They asked the police to stop the shows.
Kamra told the police he would cancel the Whitefield shows and move them to a different club in Koramangala.
People who bought tickets for the old shows will get their money back and can buy new tickets for the new venue.
Kunal Kamra cancelled his Whitefield shows after protests from Hindutva activists.
The Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti petitioned police, claiming Kamra disrespected Hindu deities.
Kamra informed police on Sunday that he would not hold the Whitefield shows and shifted them to Koramangala.
BookMyShow will refund tickets for the cancelled Whitefield shows; fans are asked to book new tickets for Koramangala.
Kamra invited protestors to debate “comedy and culture” at the police station and noted only senior journalist Aakar Patel attended.
