Telangana HC Orders Status Quo on Land Acquisition
The Telangana High Court has temporarily stopped the government from taking over some land for a new road.
The court did this because some people who own the land said the government didn't follow the right rules when trying to take their land.
The government says they have followed the rules and have already paid money to many landowners.
The court wants more information before making a final decision, so it told the government to explain what they did and to not take the land until the court decides.
The next meeting about this will be in December.
Telangana High Court ordered status quo on 36 acres of land involved in the Future City radial road project.
Petitioners allege violations of the Land Acquisition Act, including lack of proper notices and hearings.
Government claims compliance with the law and has paid compensation to 90 landowners.
Court directed the state to file counter-affidavits explaining the acquisition process.
Next hearing scheduled for December 29, 2025.
