Telangana Faces Health Crisis Due to Staff Shortage in New Hospitals
In Telangana, India, there are 25 new hospitals that were built to help more people get medical care.
But right now, only a few doctors and nurses are working there.
Out of the 25 hospitals, only 3 have some staff, and the other 22 are not working at all.
The Forum for Good Governance (FGG) is asking the government to hire more doctors and staff so these hospitals can help people.
Without enough staff, the hospitals are not being used and are getting damaged.
The government says they are trying to fix this by moving some staff from other places, but it's not enough.
25 new hospitals were built in Telangana to improve health facilities.
Only 111 doctors and staff are currently working, against a requirement of 1,413.
Out of 25 hospitals, only 3 have skeletal staff, and 22 are non-functional.
Gajwel, Kodangal, and Achampet hospitals have no staff recruited despite high requirements.
The FGG urges the government to appoint 1,302 doctors and supporting staff to make the hospitals functional.
