Nvidia Earnings Spark Taiwan Index and AI Stock Rally
NVIDIA reported much stronger earnings than before.
It also said it expects continued growth as companies buy chips for artificial intelligence.
Investors took this as a good sign for technology companies around the world.
Taiwan’s main stock index rose because many Taiwanese companies make chips and other technology products.
TSMC, which makes advanced chips for NVIDIA, also gained.
Other Taiwanese technology stocks, including MediaTek and Delta Electronics, rose as well.
The TAIEX has gained 58% so far this year.
However, foreign investors withdrew money from Taiwanese stocks in July before the index recovered in August.
Taiwan’s TAIEX rose 0.8% to 46,349, its highest close since 6 July.
NVIDIA reported $96.2 billion in July-quarter revenue, more than double the prior year.
TSMC gained 0.4% and benefited from its role manufacturing NVIDIA’s advanced AI chips.
MediaTek, Delta Electronics, and other Taiwanese technology stocks also advanced.
The TAIEX is up 58% in 2026 after recovering its 6.65% July decline.
