Delhi HC Warns DDA, DUSIB Over Rehabilitation Delay
The Delhi High Court is upset with two government groups, DDA and DUSIB, because they haven't helped five families find new homes after their old homes were torn down.
The court had said these families should get help, but the groups haven't done what the court asked.
The court had a meeting to try to solve the problem, but it's still not fixed.
The families say they shouldn't have to pay extra money for new homes when others didn't.
The court told the groups to follow its orders and give the families papers for new homes without making them pay extra.
If the groups don't do this by the next court date, they might get in trouble.
Delhi High Court warns DDA and DUSIB of 'wilful disobedience' for not providing rehabilitation to five eligible families from Madrasi Camp.
The court had previously ordered DDA to provide provisional allotment letters for alternative housing to the families.
DDA informed the court that the families would need to pay a 'beneficiary contribution' of more than Rs 1 lakh, which the petitioners argued was not demanded from other eligible families.
The court directed DDA to issue the provisional allotment letters without insisting on the beneficiary contribution.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 2, 2024, with a warning that non-compliance will be considered 'wilful disobedience'.
