Haryana's New Excise Policy Lowers Fees for Liquor Vendors
Haryana is changing how it sells licenses for liquor stores.
The government is making it cheaper for people to open these stores.
They lowered the amount of money people need to pay upfront as a security deposit.
Also, they can pay most of the license fee in monthly payments.
These changes are meant to attract more businesses and make the liquor market more competitive.
This should allow businesses to begin operating sooner and generate more revenue.
Haryana's Excise Policy 2025-27 has been amended to reduce financial barriers for liquor vendors.
The initial security deposit has been cut from 3% to 2% of the bid amount.
Total security deposit reduced from 15% to 11% of the zone's license fee.
Liquor quota lifting can begin after depositing 5% of the bid amount.
91% of the license fee is now payable in monthly installments.
