Asian Gains, Crude Surge Shape Sensex Nifty Monday Outlook
Indian share markets recovered a little on Friday after falling for four days.
However, the Sensex and Nifty 50 still had a weak week overall.
GIFT Nifty was lower before Monday’s trading, suggesting that Indian markets might open down.
Several Asian markets were higher, which could offer some support to Indian shares.
Oil prices are rising because fighting between the United States and Iran is disrupting concerns about supplies.
Expensive oil can make investors more cautious about Indian companies and the economy.
Foreign investors also sold Indian shares during the first week of September.
Analysts expect the Nifty to move between 23,600 and 24,200, with a cautious or slightly bearish tone.
The Sensex rose 362.57 points and the Nifty 50 gained 24.25 points on Friday, ending four-session losing streaks.
Despite Friday’s rebound, the Nifty 50 fell about 1.15% and the Sensex nearly 1% for the week, marking four consecutive weekly declines.
GIFT Nifty was trading near 23,985, down about 62.6 points, indicating a potentially negative opening for Indian equities.
Asian markets opened higher, with the Nikkei 225 up nearly 1%, the Kospi 3.09% higher and Taiwan’s TAIEX up more than 1.56%.
Rising crude prices, United States-Iran tensions, foreign selling and interest-rate uncertainty remain risks, while analysts see Nifty support at 23,800–23,600 and resistance at 24,000–24,200.
