Nolan’s Odyssey: Morocco’s Real‑World Film Locations

Nolan’s Odyssey: Morocco’s Real‑World Film Locations

Christopher Nolan made his movie The Odyssey in Morocco, not in a studio.

He used a real 1,200‑year‑old village called Ait Benhaddou as the ancient city of Troy.

The big Trojan Horse scenes were filmed on the beaches of Essaouira.

The palace scenes were shot in Marrakech’s beautiful palaces.

The white dunes near Dakhla looked like a far‑away island.

By filming on real places, the movie feels more real and dramatic.
