Indian government forms quick response teams to fight fake news
The government of India wants everyone to get true information from the internet.
Sometimes people share fake or confusing posts on social media.
So the government is making special teams called Quick Response Teams.
These teams watch social media for wrong or misleading content.
When they find something suspicious, they check whether it is true.
They try to answer within two hours of finding the problem.
Departments like power, agriculture and commerce already have their teams.
The teams work with the PIB fact check unit.
Very serious fake posts are sent to senior authorities.
This helps people trust what they see online.
Indian government departments are forming Quick Response Teams (QRTs) to counter fake and misleading content on social media.
QRTs aim to scrutinise, coordinate and respond to misinformation, ideally within two hours of detection.
Social media teams will monitor content related to ministry policies, schemes and programmes, escalating critical cases to senior authorities.
QRTs will verify suspicious content and coordinate with the PIB fact check unit to provide factual positions.
Departments including power, agriculture and commerce have already constituted their QRTs.
