Bargiel First to Ski Down Everest Without Oxygen
Imagine someone climbing to the very top of the world's tallest mountain, Everest, without any extra oxygen to help them breathe.
After that, they skied all the way down!
That's what Andrzej Bargiel, a Polish ski mountaineer, just did.
He climbed through a place called the 'death zone' where there is very little oxygen.
It took him about 16 hours to reach the top.
Then, he put on his skis and went down, even through a tricky part called the Khumbu Icefall.
He is the first person ever to do this without using bottled oxygen.
Andrzej Bargiel became the first person to climb and ski down Mount Everest without bottled oxygen.
Bargiel reached the summit on September 22 after climbing through the 'death zone'.
He skied down using the South Col Route, navigating the Khumbu Icefall.
Bargiel's brother, Bartek, assisted with the descent using a drone.
This achievement is a milestone in Bargiel's career and fulfilled a long-held dream.
