AWS and Aumovio Partner for AI-Driven Self-Driving Vehicles
Amazon's cloud unit, AWS, has teamed up with a German company called Aumovio to help make self-driving cars a reality.
They plan to use special AI tools to make these cars safer and more reliable.
The first cars they'll work on are big trucks made by a company called Aurora, which might start driving without drivers by 2027.
Right now, Aurora already has some self-driving trucks on the road in the US.
This partnership is important because it shows that self-driving cars are moving from being just an idea to something that will be used every day.
AWS will help Aumovio look at lots of driving data to find and fix any problems, making sure the cars can handle rare situations like debris on the road or people walking in traffic.
This is a big step forward for the self-driving car industry.
AWS partners with Aumovio to support the commercial rollout of self-driving vehicles, starting with Aurora's autonomous trucks.
AWS will be Aumovio's preferred cloud provider for AI-powered autonomous driving development.
The tools will be used for Aurora's planned deployment of driverless trucks from 2027.
Aurora has already launched limited driverless operations in the US.
The partnership aims to accelerate the development and validation of autonomous systems using AI tools.
