South Kolkata Faces Water Shortage on 31 January

Some areas in South Kolkata, like Tollygunge, Behala, and Garden Reach, will not have drinking water on Saturday, 31 January.

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) needs to fix a leak in the water pipes and connect a new pipe to a booster station.

This work will stop the water supply from the morning until Sunday.

The KMC says this is regular maintenance to keep the water system working well.

They will also replace some old valves that control the water flow.

The areas affected include parts of boroughs 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16.

The KMC expects the water supply to return to normal on Sunday morning.
