Darian Mensah to Join Miami Hurricanes After Duke Settlement
Darian Mensah is a star quarterback who had a big contract with Duke University.
He wanted to leave Duke and join the Miami Hurricanes, but Duke sued to keep him.
They made a deal, and now Darian can go to Miami.
He had a great season last year, and Miami wants him to help their team.
Duke said they will respect contracts but it's hard to sue players.
Everyone is moving on now.
Darian Mensah's legal dispute with Duke University has been settled, allowing him to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes.
The conflict arose from a multiyear NIL agreement valued at up to $4 million, which Mensah wanted to leave early.
Duke sued to enforce the contract, but both sides reached a 'fair and mutually agreeable resolution' through negotiation.
Mensah is expected to replace Carson Beck as the starting quarterback for the Hurricanes, who are looking to reload after their historic 2025 season.
Mensah had a standout season in 2025, leading Duke to its first outright ACC title since 1962 with 3,973 passing yards and 34 touchdowns.
