USCIS Announces Fee Changes and Deadline for Immigration Forms
The US government is changing the fees for immigration forms.
If you send in a form on or after August 21, 2025, without the correct payment, it will be rejected.
These new fees are due to a bill called H.R. 1.
Some forms now require extra fees on top of the regular fees.
There is a new form, G-1055, that details these fees.
If you cannot afford the fees, you can ask for a waiver, but some fees like the new ones, can't be waived.
You need to pay the right fees unless you qualify for a waiver.
USCIS will reject immigration forms postmarked on or after August 21, 2025, if they lack the correct fees.
New fees are mandated by the H.R. 1 Reconciliation Bill and were announced on July 18, 2025.
The new fees are in addition to existing fees and must be submitted separately.
Form G-1055, Fee Schedule, updated 07/31/25, includes a Biometric Services Fee and new EAD fees.
Fee waivers are available for some, but not all, fees; additional fees cannot be waived.
