Dr. Soumitro Chakraborty Receives CSR Sustainability Leadership Award

Dr. Soumitro Chakraborty received an award for leadership in social responsibility and sustainability.

He leads an organisation called Innovative Project Management Services, or IPMS.

The award recognised the organisation’s work to create positive and measurable social impact.

At the event, he said India needs more than roads, ports and other infrastructure.

He said these systems should help small businesses, farmers and producers reach markets more easily.

He also said development should be judged by how people’s lives improve, not only by economic numbers.

He highlighted jobs, women’s participation, financial inclusion, transparency and good governance.

IPMS uses research, planning and evaluation to help organisations create lasting social and environmental benefits.
