Tata Sons IPO Buzz Grows After RBI Rejects Deregistration

Tata Sons is the holding company connected to many large Tata Group businesses.

It owns significant portions of companies such as TCS, Tata Capital and Tata Power.

The value of Tata Sons has fallen since March 2024, partly because TCS shares dropped.

Tata Investment’s stock, however, increased slightly over the period described.

The Reserve Bank of India says Tata Sons must remain registered as a Core Investment Company.

It also remains on the RBI’s list of upper-layer non-banking finance companies.

These classifications come with stricter rules.

Investors are watching because the rules may affect whether Tata Sons eventually needs to list its shares publicly.
