BNP Paribas Acquires Swiggy Shares in INR 122 Cr Block Deal
Imagine a company called Swiggy, like a restaurant delivery service.
A big bank, BNP Paribas, bought a bunch of Swiggy's shares, spending about 122 crore rupees.
The shares were sold by another company, Citigroup, for a slightly lower price than they were worth.
This is like a special deal where a big investor buys many shares at once.
Meanwhile, Swiggy is trying new things, like a travel app for richer customers, but some of their other services aren't doing as well.
Although, an investment firm thinks the stock will go up and Swiggy was added to global stock indexes which may increase investments.
BNP Paribas acquired Swiggy shares worth approximately INR 122.08 Cr.
Citigroup Global Markets sold around 320,421 Swiggy shares in a block deal.
The sale price was INR 381 per share, representing a 1.3% discount.
Swiggy's market capitalization was INR 96,267.24 Cr at close of trading.
Swiggy's 'platform innovations' segment saw revenue drop and losses increase in Q4 FY25.
