Delhi HC Modifies Patanjali Chyawanprash Ad Ruling
The Delhi High Court has modified an earlier ruling regarding Patanjali's advertisement for Chyawanprash.
Patanjali can continue to use the phrase "Why settle for ordinary chyawanprash?"
in its ads.
However, the court ordered Patanjali to remove any mention of "40 herbs."
The court considered the phrase "ordinary chyawanprash" as permissible advertising, not misleading.
This ruling came after Dabur filed a petition, arguing that Patanjali’s advertisement disparaged its product.
The court is essentially allowing Patanjali to promote its product with a general claim, but not by directly comparing it to a competitor.
