Why Your Car’s Air Conditioning May Feel Humid

A car’s air conditioner is supposed to make the air cooler and less damp.

It does this by passing cabin air over a cold part called the evaporator.

Water collects there and should drain outside the car.

If the refrigerant is low, the evaporator may not get cold enough to remove much water.

If the drain is blocked, water can build up inside the system or make the carpets wet.

A weak fan can also move too little air through the system.

These problems can make the cabin feel humid.
