Gen Z students redefine career paths, prefer flexibility
A survey by Randstad India found that many young people in India, known as Gen Z, are changing how they think about their future jobs.
Most of them don't want just one traditional full-time job.
Instead, they want jobs that let them do other things on the side, like a side hustle.
They also want jobs that give them flexibility, like working from different places or having different working hours.
Money is important to them, but they also care about having a good balance between work and their personal life.
Many of them plan to change jobs often, staying in one job for less than a year.
They also use technology a lot, like AI tools, to learn and do their jobs.
Even though they are a bit worried about how technology might affect their jobs in the future, they feel positive about their career prospects.
This survey shows that young people are redefining what work means to them, focusing on jobs that give them freedom, growth, and purpose.
Only 16% of Gen Z in India prefer a single traditional full-time job.
43% of Gen Z want a full-time job combined with a side hustle.
38% of Gen Z plan to stay in a job for less than a year.
Pay is the top priority for job choices, followed by flexibility in location and working hours.
94% of Gen Z consider long-term personal and professional goals when evaluating job opportunities.
