KSEB Implements Surcharge on Electricity Bills in June
Imagine your electricity company, KSEB, had to spend extra money to buy power in April.
To get that money back, they are adding a small extra charge to your electricity bill in June.
If you pay your bill every month, it's a little bit extra.
If you pay every two months, it's a slightly bigger amount.
Not everyone has to pay this extra charge.
If you use very little electricity or have a special 'green' electricity plan, you don't have to pay the surcharge.
KSEB will collect a fuel surcharge in June.
The surcharge is 5 paise per unit for monthly billing.
The surcharge is 7 paise per unit for bi-monthly billing.
The surcharge recovers ₹12.39 crore spent on power purchases in April.
