Opposition protests disrupt Rajya Sabha on 14th day, adjourned briefly

The Rajya Sabha is one of the two houses of India's Parliament, where leaders meet to discuss important matters for the country.

For 14 days in a row, some members, called the Opposition, have been protesting and shouting during the meetings.

They want the government to answer questions about two serious things: money that was reportedly taken from donations meant for the Ram Temple, and how police treated students during a protest in Delhi.

Because of all the shouting, the person in charge of the house, Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan, could not run the meeting smoothly.

He asked the protesting members to sit down and stop shouting, but they continued.

So he decided to pause the meeting and said it would restart at noon.

The Opposition also wanted to raise something called Rule 267, but the Chairman said he had already given his decision about it.

While the meeting was briefly open, members talked about other issues, like helping people who are suffering financially after 2,000 mines closed in Goa and stopping diagnostic centres from paying unfair referral commissions to doctors.

When the meeting starts again, everyone hopes that the members will discuss their disagreements in a peaceful way.
