SHRC Seeks Action Report in Ulhasnagar Child Snake-Bite Death

SHRC Seeks Action Report in Ulhasnagar Child Snake-Bite Death

A three-year-old child named Sultan Shaikh was bitten by a snake in June 2026.

His family took him to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar.

The family says hospital staff delayed treatment and asked to see a picture of the snake.

The child’s condition became worse, and he later died.

The hospital’s civil surgeon conducted a preliminary inquiry.

He said the case was handled carelessly by a doctor and a nurse.

The State Human Rights Commission is now asking health officials what action they have taken.

The officials must report back at a hearing on October 26.
