Differently-Abled Artisan Wins National Handloom Award for Weaving
Bhojrajbhai Dhoriya, a weaver from India, won a big award for his beautiful handwoven work.
He makes special cloths with a design that's been around for 400 years!
He learned how to weave from his father and never gave up, even when things got tough.
He faced health issues and the art almost disappeared.
But he kept working hard, teaching others, and finding ways to sell his crafts.
He got help from a special institute to improve his designs and apply for the award, which makes him very proud.
Bhojrajbhai Dhoriya, a differently-abled artisan, won the National Handloom Award 2025.
The award was for reviving the 400-year-old Bharasai Mashroo design.
Dhoriya learned Mashroo weaving from his father, who introduced it to Khadi production.
Despite challenges, including polio and cancer, Dhoriya preserved the craft.
He received support from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII).
