Bhutan PM Calls Modi Vishnu’s Kalki Avatar

Bhutan’s prime minister, Tshering Tobgay, has written about his admiration for India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi.

He said he first described Modi as an avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu in 2019.

Tobgay later thought carefully about the comment and said he still believed it was right.

He praised Modi’s work in Gujarat and across India.

Tobgay said Modi’s Viksit Bharat plan aims to make India a developed country by 2047.

He also said Bhutan’s future is connected to India’s development.

Tobgay pointed to Indian support for Bhutan, including funding and help with projects.

His remarks came as Modi marked 25 years leading an elected government.
