Ram Gopal Varma Pays ₹1.32 Crore After Shoot Halt
Ram Gopal Varma is making a film called Police Company.
A film workers’ group said he owed technicians ₹1.32 crore.
The money was reportedly connected to several films made over the years.
The group said some of those films were released and others were not.
The workers stopped the new film’s opening ceremony because the payment had not been made.
Varma then paid the full amount, according to the group.
After receiving the money, the group allowed filming to begin.
Police Company will star Harshvardhan Rane and is about Mumbai’s fight against organized crime.
Ram Gopal Varma paid ₹1.32 crore in dues to technicians after FWICE halted Police Company’s muhurat shoot.
FWICE president BN Tiwari said the payments had allegedly remained pending for nine years across films including Sarkar and Sarkar 3.
Tiwari alleged that Varma avoided payment, closed his office, and became difficult to contact.
According to Tiwari, intervention by influential people and pressure led Varma to settle the full amount.
Police Company stars Harshvardhan Rane as Daya Nayak and explores Mumbai’s organized-crime crackdown after the Dawood Ibrahim–Chhota Rajan split.
