Mohali Sectors 87, 101, 103 for Development
The government in Punjab is planning to develop three sectors in Mohali.
Sector 87 will be made similar to a famous area in Chandigarh called Sector 17, which has shops and markets.
Sectors 101 and 103 will be used for setting up industries.
The process has started with a study to understand how this development will affect the people living there.
This study is important to ensure that those who might be affected by the development are treated fairly and given proper support.
Punjab Housing and Urban Development Department plans to develop Sectors 87, 101, 103 in Mohali.
Sector 87 will be developed on the lines of Chandigarh’s Sector 17, known for its commercial activities.
Sectors 101 and 103 are designated for industrial development.
The acquisition process has formally advanced with the initiation of the Social Impact Assessment (SIA).
The SIA is conducted under Section 4 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2011.
