Pensioners Urged to Submit Life Certificates by Feb. 28
In East Godavari district, India, all pensioners, including family pensioners and retired employees, are asked to submit their life certificates, called Jeevan Praman, between January 1 and February 28.
This is to make sure they are still alive and eligible to receive their pensions.
They can submit these certificates online using special apps or by visiting their local sub-treasury offices.
If they don't submit the certificates on time, their pension payments might stop.
For those who have trouble using biometrics or are too sick to go out, the treasury staff can visit their homes to verify their status.
Even if someone has submitted a certificate before, they need to do it again during this period.
