RBI Governor: India Transitioning to Job Creators
India is changing!
The head of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Sanjay Malhotra, says that India is now a place where people are creating jobs more than looking for them.
He noticed that many young people, especially those with degrees, are starting their own businesses instead of trying to get a job at a big company.
This is great because more companies means more jobs.
He says that the government has also helped this change, supporting new businesses with programs.
Because of this change, India has climbed up in how innovative it is!
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra says India is becoming a nation of job creators.
He notes a shift from traditional job seeking to entrepreneurship among young graduates.
This shift has led to the creation of approximately 150,000 start-ups.
Malhotra highlights government programs like Start-Up India and Digital India as supportive.
India's rise in the Global Innovation Index from 81 in 2015 to 39 in 2024 is mentioned.
