RPI(A) Secures 12 BMC Seats After Fadnavis Meeting

RPI(A) Secures 12 BMC Seats After Fadnavis Meeting

Ramdas Athawale, the leader of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss seat allocation for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

Initially, the RPI(A) was unhappy because they were not given any seats in the initial agreement.

After the meeting, it was decided that the RPI(A) will get 12 seats, which will be taken from the BJP and Shiv Sena's share.

The BJP and Shiv Sena have been told to withdraw their candidates from these seats so that the RPI(A) candidates can run instead.

Meanwhile, the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), which is allied with the Congress, had trouble finding candidates for 16 of their allocated seats.

The Congress and VBA have denied any issues within their alliance, but these uncontested seats might benefit the Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS alliance by reducing vote division.
