ISB Study Finds Digital Health Standards Improve Hospital Operations

A study looked at 20 hospitals that adopted digital health standards.

The hospitals said their records and daily work became better organized.

Digital records also made information easier to find across departments.

Some hospitals reported faster discharges and reporting.

One hospital said its lost revenue fell from 33 per cent to 7 per cent.

However, this result came from just one hospital.

Training staff and changing how people worked were the hardest parts.

Smaller and speciality hospitals often had fewer resources for the change.

Researchers said the standards should be adapted to each hospital rather than applied in exactly the same way.
