Pankaja Munde said the state cannot compromise on environmental goals.

The government has created a new group called the Maharashtra State River Rejuvenation Authority.

This group will work on cleaning and restoring polluted rivers.

It will also try to reduce pollution and manage river basins.

The plan includes 54 polluted river stretches.

These stretches are located across Maharashtra.

About Rs 2,000 crore is expected to be invested in the programme.
