US Approves $2.7 Billion Ukraine Defence Package Amid Russia Pressure

The United States has approved a possible large weapons sale for Ukraine.

The equipment would help Ukraine defend itself during its war with Russia.

It includes missiles, radar systems and tools to fight drones.

The sale is not final because Congress must review it.

European countries and previously approved US funds would help pay for the equipment.

Some of the US funding would be connected to a reconstruction fund created through a minerals agreement with Ukraine.

President Donald Trump has urged Europe to pay a larger share of Ukraine’s defense costs.

Trump has also approved new sanctions that could increase economic pressure on Russia.

Together, the weapons proposal and sanctions show the US using military and economic measures while the war continues.
