Rare Ravana Temple Revived in Mandya
There's a special temple in a place called Nidaghatta, which is dedicated to a character named Ravana from a famous Hindu story called Ramayana.
This temple was almost forgotten and in bad condition for a long time.
But recently, many people who consider Ravana as their family god started visiting and donating money to fix it up.
The temple now has a new roof, a wedding hall, and a wall around it.
People from different nearby towns come to pray here.
There's another similar temple nearby, but this one is more popular.
The temple's story is connected to a time when Ravana and his army are said to have stayed in this area.
A rare temple dedicated to Demon King Ravana in Nidaghatta, Malavalli, Mandya district, Karnataka, has been renovated.
The temple, Sri Ravaleshwara Swamy Sannidhi, was in dilapidated condition and was revived through donations from devotees.
Renovations include an RCC roof, wedding hall, compound wall, and a small tower.
Devotees from various nearby districts, including Mangaluru, Bhadravathi, Mysuru, Mandya, and Ramnagar, visit the temple.
Another temple dedicated to Ravana exists near Kothanur, Kollegal taluk, Chamarajnagar, but the Nidaghatta temple is more popular.
