Telangana Approves Revised Cinema Ticket-Price Slabs
The Telangana government has changed the prices cinemas can charge for movie tickets.
The new prices depend on the theatre type and the kind of seat.
Non-AC theatres can charge less than AC theatres.
Special theatres and multiplexes can charge up to ₹300 for premium or recliner seats.
The changes may help single-screen theatres adjust prices when popular films are released.
The government previously said premiere shows would not be allowed after the Sandhya Theatre incident during the Pushpa 2 premiere.
Producers must give 20% of the extra money earned from higher ticket prices to a film-industry workers’ welfare account.
Telangana has approved a slight increase in cinema ticket prices through a new government order.
Non-AC tickets will range from ₹30 to ₹100, depending on the category.
AC tickets will range from ₹50 to ₹200, while special theatres can charge up to ₹300.
Multiplex tickets will range from ₹100 to ₹300, including regular and recliner seats.
Producers must remit 20% of incremental ticket revenue to the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation Welfare Association Account.
