Mumbai: BMC Empanels Private Centres for MRI Scans Amid Hospital Delays
In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is inviting private diagnostic centres to help with MRI scans for patients of KEM and BYL Nair Hospitals.
This is because the hospitals' MRI machines are broken, and patients are facing long waits or expensive private scans.
The BMC will pay the private centres a fixed rate for the scans.
BMC invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for private centres to conduct MRI scans for KEM and BYL Nair Hospital patients
Decision comes due to prolonged equipment breakdowns and heavy patient load causing long delays
Empanelled centres to charge civic-approved rates of ₹2,500 for plain MRI and ₹3,300 for contrast MRI
Centres must meet technical standards and be within a 5-km radius of either hospital
Empanelment valid for at least six months, extendable based on patient volume
