Aegon to Sell ASR Stake as it Shifts Focus to US
Aegon, a Dutch insurance company, is selling some of its shares in another Dutch insurance company, ASR.
This is because Aegon wants to focus more on the United States.
They're selling about 6% of their ASR shares, which is worth a lot of money.
ASR is also buying back some of these shares.
Aegon had previously combined its Dutch business with ASR but now wants to concentrate on the US market.
They might even start trading their stock in New York and move their headquarters.
The shares of ASR have gone up in value recently, making this a good time for Aegon to sell some of its holdings.
Aegon is selling a 6% stake in ASR Nederland NV.
The stake sale is worth around €720 million.
ASR will buy back about 15% of the stock on sale.
Aegon is shifting its focus from the Netherlands to the US.
