Godavari River Swells, Flooding 35 Villages in Telangana
The Godavari River in Telangana is getting very full because it has been raining a lot in the places where the river starts.
The water level at a place called Ramannagudem is almost at the danger line.
Because of this, 35 villages are cut off and a bridge that people use to travel between Telangana and Chhattisgarh is underwater.
The local government is moving people to safe camps and giving them food, water, and medicine.
The National Disaster Response Force is looking for a tourist who disappeared in the flooded area.
Everyone is told to stay away from the river and not to go fishing or swimming.
Godavari River water level at Ramannagudem reached 75.47 ft, close to the third warning level of 75.82 ft.
Flooding has cut off 35 villages in Mulugu district and halted traffic between Telangana and Chhattisgarh due to a submerged bridge.
Inflow at Sammakka‑Sarakka Barrage is nearly 14.03 lakh cusecs, with equal volume released downstream, raising flood risk along Jampanna stream.
District authorities have shifted residents to relief camps, ensuring water, food, electricity, and medical aid; a 24×7 helpline (1800‑425‑7109) is available.
The National Disaster Response Force is searching for a missing tourist in Jampannavagu, and fishermen have been told not to enter the river.
