India’s ‘Moon Man’ Urges Hands-On Aerospace Learning for Students
Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai wants students to learn science by doing things, not just memorizing facts.
He said India needs more young people with aerospace skills.
A new program called Global Aerosports will help school students explore airplanes, rockets, drones, space and stars.
Students will design projects, solve problems and experiment.
The program will also teach students about new technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Organizers want rural schools to receive these opportunities too.
Teachers may receive special training to become Aerospace Ambassadors.
The program will offer a weekend certificate course and is developing a longer course with the government.
Space scientist Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai urged schools to move beyond rote learning.
He called for experimentation, analytical thinking, innovation, STEM and artificial intelligence education.
Global Aerosports will teach aeromodelling, rocketry, drones, space technology and astronomy.
The initiative aims to provide early aerospace exposure and reach rural schools.
Programs will include certificates, career counselling, assessments and teacher training.
