Travel Influencer Suffers AMS in Ladakh: Symptoms and Prevention
Kamiya Jani, a travel influencer, got sick in Ladakh because of the high altitude.
At high altitudes, the air has less oxygen, and it's harder for our bodies to get used to it.
This is called Acute Mountain Sickness, or AMS.
Kamiya advises that when visiting high altitudes, it's important to take it easy, giving your body time to get used to the thin air.
This means drinking lots of water, not drinking too much alcohol or caffeine, eating light meals, and resting.
Make sure your body is ready for the next part of your journey.
If you don't feel well, stop and rest immediately or descend to a lower altitude.

AMS occurs when the body struggles to adjust to low oxygen levels at high altitudes.
