India Expands Akash Missile Exports to More Countries

India has sold its Akash air-defence missile system to several countries.

Armenia was the first buyer, and India’s Defence Secretary said Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have also bought it.

Akash is designed to detect and stop aircraft and other flying threats.

The article says it can work against threats within 25 kilometres.

India also tested a newer version of the missile system.

Another Indian missile, BrahMos, is being sold to countries including the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.

India’s defence exports grew during the year from April 2025 to March 2026.

The country wants to increase those exports further by 2030.
