Supreme Court Adjourns Partha Chatterjee Bail Hearing
A judge at the Supreme Court, Justice Bagchi, decided he couldn't be part of the hearing about whether Partha Chatterjee should be let out of jail on bail.
Because of this, the court had to delay the hearing.
The judge didn't say why, but this happens sometimes to avoid any possible issues.
The court will find other judges to review the case, and Partha Chatterjee, who has been in jail for about three years, is hoping to be released.
Justice Joymalya Bagchi recused himself from the bail hearing of Partha Chatterjee.
The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on the bail plea.
Justice Bagchi, formerly of Calcutta High Court, did not give a reason for recusal.
The court will list the matter before a different bench.
